This policy describes how the Companion Messaging Service ("the Service") handles information for participants. The Service is a wellness text-message companion program operated by Beaufort AI LLC ("Beaufort AI," "we," "us") for individuals who benefit from regular, low-effort conversational contact — for example, older adults or individuals in a care setting. Enrollment is arranged by a family member, legal guardian, or authorized caregiver on the participant's behalf.
Participation is by direct invitation only. A family member or authorized caregiver sets up the Service on behalf of a participant, using the participant's own existing phone number, with the participant's knowledge and agreement. The Service does not accept public sign-ups and does not message any number that has not been set up this way.
The Service does not collect payment information, financial details, government ID numbers, or passwords, and participants are never asked to provide any of these.
A participant or their family may stop using the Service at any time by contacting the family member who set it up, who will deactivate the number. Standard "STOP" text-message opt-out handling is also honored.
Message data is retained only as long as needed to support the participant's ongoing use of the Service and, where applicable, care-related review by an authorized physician or caregiver. It is not retained for any other purpose.

These terms describe the basic conditions of using the Companion Messaging Service ("the Service"), operated by Beaufort AI LLC, Poplarville, Mississippi. By participating, the participant and the family member or caregiver who set up the Service agree to the following.
The Service provides automated, AI-generated text-message conversation, companionship, and scheduled check-ins. It is a companionship and communication aid only. It is not a medical device, not a monitoring or emergency-response system, and it does not replace care provided by family, facility staff, or medical professionals.
The Service does not provide medical advice, does not manage or remind about medication, and is not equipped to handle emergencies. Participants are directed at all times to contact on-site staff, a call button, or emergency services for anything urgent or medical.
The Service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. As with any AI-based conversational tool, responses may occasionally be inaccurate or imperfect. The Service is not warranted to be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose beyond general companionship and conversation.
These terms and the accompanying Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The most current version will always be available at this page.
